Because dads are men, too. The BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer with M Sport Package
Seven seats, plenty of space and a sporty style - short: everything dads need when you're looking for the one family car. Then the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer is the perfect wingman.
Well, okay. The the way BMW shows the 2 Series Gran Tourer here in Geneva, it may probably not used frequently: Three kids seats adorn the first of the possible two rear rows.
The presentation is an impressive example of what the new BMW can pack. Fathers (and mothers) can count the number of compact models on the market that fit in three car seats on just a few fingers – and now, there’s BMW that can manage just that.
I am speaking as an experienced father. For me its quite impressive, what the BMW Gran Tourer boasts with the three car seats, two of them secured with Isofix.
And there’s more – a third optional seat-row, which turns the new BMW into a Seven-Seater.
The BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer is aimed at all of those drivers who need a little more. More space. More seats. More functionality. And at those who would like to combine this “more” with the usual BMW comfort, a little luxury and sportiness.
At the market launch in the summer, the Gran Tourer will start with five engine options, three diesel and two petrol units ranging in power from 116 hp (in 216d) to 192 hp (220i). From the entry-level diesel 216d up, all models can be equipped with either manual or automatic transmission. Other engine possibilities can be expected in the months following the launch.
The M Sport package is available for those looking for a bit more sportiness. In addition to larger air intakes and distinctive features of front and rear panels, the package also includes the M Sports Suspension Lowering System with more discreet lowering of the axels and subtle chassis. On the interior continues with the trim and entertains with the appropriate sport seats for each style, an M leather steering wheel and automatic air conditioning.
With the launch of the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer, the ConnectedDrive App from myKidio will also celebrate its launch in the App Store. Find out what the app offers for the little passengers in the BMW family in this article: The BMW cockpit for little passengers - myKidio.
The Gran Tourer will make its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show. Women, boys, girls, men and all others interested can check it out until March 15. BMW partners expect its arrival in summer.
