Since the company showed the BMW i8 Concept Spyder at the Paris Motor Show back in 2012 we waited … and waited. Back in January there was an updated version of the concept - without doors it showcased how BMW ConnectedDrive will develop into an digital assistance companion, the BMW i Vision Future Interaction.
The open-top BMW i8 Roadster will be built under the codename I15 in Leipzig, Germany.
The i8’s plug-in hybrid powertrain will likely get an updated battery pack and a potential increase in power until 2018. The current i8 makes 360 horsepower and hits 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
