Motor Show Blog was founded in 2012 with a single editorial mission: to cover BMW’s presence at the world’s major motor shows with the depth and passion that mainstream automotive media rarely afforded to a single brand.
What We Cover
Our focus begins and ends with BMW — but within that universe, we cast a wide net. Concept cars, world premieres, limited editions, M Performance debuts, endurance racing programmes and technology announcements all fall within our remit.
The Shows We Attend
Each year, the Motor Show Blog team travels to Geneva, Detroit (NAIAS), Beijing or Shanghai (alternating), Frankfurt or Munich (IAA), Paris (biennial) and Goodwood Festival of Speed. We also cover smaller regional shows when BMW schedules significant reveals.
The Team
Thomas Gigold is Editor-in-Chief and has covered automotive events since 2005. He has attended over 40 motor shows across four continents and has interviewed every BMW M division chief engineer since 2009. Contributing editors Jonas Eling and Markus Bauer provide photography and technical analysis respectively.
Editorial Independence
Motor Show Blog is independently operated. We accept no payment for reviews or editorial coverage. Press-trip travel costs are subject to our standard disclosure policy, which is available on request.
