The International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt is BMW’s home show, and in 2017 the brand constructed its most ambitious stand in decades. To capture it from above, Motor Show Blog commissioned a 360° drone flight that lets viewers pivot in every direction as they soar over the Bavarian pavillion.
What You See in the Video
The footage reveals the full geometry of BMW’s “The Next 100 Years” installation — a series of illuminated pods housing concept cars, including the BMW 8 Series Concept and the i Vision Dynamics. From ground level, visitors could only experience these pods sequentially. The drone sees them all at once.
8 Series Concept: The Star of the Show
BMW’s headline reveal at IAA 2017 was the 8 Series Concept, previewing a grand tourer set to re-enter production after a 20-year absence. The production 8 Series arrived at Le Mans 2018, looking remarkably close to the concept.
i Vision Dynamics
Positioned as a preview of BMW’s electric future, the i Vision Dynamics concept showed a sleek four-door gran coupe silhouette with promised specs of 600+ km range and 0–100 km/h in under 4 seconds. The production i4 delivered on most of those promises.
